KEF’s Julia Davidson Recognized as one of the Consumer Electronics Industry’s “Young Turks”
KEF, the renowned manufacturer of innovative, reference-quality loudspeakers, has announced that research engineer, Julia Davidson, has been named one of the custom and consumer electronics industry’s “Young Turks” by CustomRetailer magazine.
“KEF is renown across the globe as one of the leaders in technical innovation and quality,” said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “The foundation of that reputation is built upon the passion, vision and talents of team members like Julia Davidson. More than deserving of this accolade, Julia has proven to be an extremely valuable asset to the KEF family as we continue in our goal to revolutionize the loudspeaker category.”
Davidson is one of the consumer electronics industry’s rising stars. She was one of the leading engineers in the development of KEF’s new T Series, an ultra-thin flat panel loudspeaker range. Thanks to talents of engineers like Davidson, the T Series—a 2011 International CES innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree—lays claim as one of the world’s thinnest high performance home theater audio systems. Davidson was part of the design team that developed the T Series’ revolutionary MF driver, crossover and other elements that helped produce a speaker cabinet just 35mm deep.
Davidson was also an instrumental part of the development of KEF’s Concept Blade. She assisted in the engineering of the speaker’s innovative cabinet walls and internal compartments, LF dustcaps and the final design and build of the speaker.
She has also been responsible for the material characterization and development of new technologies for KEF’s Celestion drivers.
