An outdoor installation competition driven by social media.
Marketing Matters helped AVAD, a large distributor of residential and commercial AV and security products, promote its outdoor product lines with an outdoor installation photo contest. This contest ran for two months in the summer and was promoted primarily through AVAD’s social media networks, including Facebook, Twitter and AVAD’s e-newsletter, as well as supported by a media relations campaign
The contest was well received by integrators and the winners were announced and awarded at CEDIA Expo. The contest succeeded in drawing as many entries as the traditional industry publications do, and it provided a great way to promote AVAD’s products through non-traditional means. Additionally, the contest helped grow awareness of AVAD’s social media networks, including its Facebook page which increased its following by 53% over the course of the campaign. Because of its success, this contest will now become an annual event for AVAD.
