Clare Controls’ Award-Winning Products Take Stage at CEDIA EXPO 2012

CEDIA EXPO 2012 proved to be an award-winning show for Clare Controls, a provider of configurable and intuitive automated systems for residential and commercial applications, and its dealers.

Clare Controls took home the CustomRetailer EXC!TE Award for the new ClareHome App, which made its debut at CEDIA EXPO.

By replacing the room navigation metaphor commonly pre-configured by the dealer, the ClareHome App allows users to organize their home automation tasks using a more familiar dashboard metaphor.  With the new App, users may build personal interfaces based on their favorite things to do and not just the rooms they’re in.

The CustomRetailer EXC!TE Awards program honors products that demonstrate the excitement and growth of the custom installation and consumer electronics industries. Winners are chosen by CustomRetailer magazine’s editors and contributors, as well as selected retailers and industry observers. The 2012 EXC!TE Award winners, including Clare Controls, were recognized at a special awards reception at CEDIA EXPO in Indianapolis, Ind. on September 6, 2012.

In addition to Clare Controls being honored for product innovation, Clare Controls’ dealer the ZIO Group received two prestigious CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Designer Awards for an impressive project backed by a ClareHome system.

The ZIO Group received the Gold Award—the high award possible—in the “Best Integrated Home Level III: $250,000-$293,000” category and the Gold Award in the “Sustainable Lifestyle Installation” category in this year’s competition in recognition of the company’s work on the 2012 New American Home in Winter Park, Fla.

The brain of the integrated system is Clare Controls’ ClareHome, which utilizes three wall-mounted iPads® and two wall-mounted iPod® Touch’s to easily control the lighting, audio, video, security, motorized shades and screens, pool and climate, as well as track solar production and monitor overall energy consumption.

Presented annually, the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards recognize the best of the best amongst professional integrators in the residential electronic systems industry.
